ANTE ESTE ESCENARIO, EL HOSPITAL DE CURIC\u00d3 HA DADO UN PASO HIST\u00d3RICO AL SER SELECCIONADO COMO UNO DE LOS CINCO CENTROS DE SALUD A NIVEL NACIONAL (Y UNO DE LOS TRES P\u00daBLICOS) PARA IMPLEMENTAR UNA TECNOLOG\u00cdA M\u00c9DICA AVANZADA DE ALTA PRECISI\u00d3N, DENOMINADA ELECTROPORACI\u00d3N O ABLACI\u00d3N POR CAMPO PULSADO.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El Doctor Miguel Wilman, M\u00e9dico Cardi\u00f3logo y Jefe del Servicio de Cardiolog\u00eda, destac\u00f3 el impacto de este hito y el crecimiento de la especialidad en la regi\u00f3n: \u00abLa unidad de electrofisiolog\u00eda ha tenido un crecimiento exponencial. Esto es el resultado directo de gestiones m\u00e9dicas, directivas y administrativas coordinadas. Es un trabajo en conjunto que la industria m\u00e9dica internacional reconoce en la forma de funcionar del Hospital de Curic\u00f3\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta tecnolog\u00eda utiliza campos el\u00e9ctricos de alto voltaje y corta duraci\u00f3n para crear poros microsc\u00f3picos en las c\u00e9lulas del tejido card\u00edaco enfermo. Funciona introduciendo un cat\u00e9ter hasta el coraz\u00f3n, donde se emiten impulsos el\u00e9ctricos que rompen la membrana de las c\u00e9lulas del \u00e1rea afectada sin usar fr\u00edo ni calor. A diferencia de la radiofrecuencia tradicional, afecta solo al m\u00fasculo card\u00edaco y protege los \u00f3rganos o nervios cercanos<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta tecnolog\u00eda aplicada, significa tener la posibilidad de atender pacientes con mayor seguridad, eficacia y menor tiempo de cirug\u00eda, lo que permiti\u00f3 ejecutar un procedimiento a un paciente de 69 a\u00f1os con sobrepeso e hipertensi\u00f3n arterial, diagn\u00f3sticos de base que le generaban una arritmia severa.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Respecto a la elecci\u00f3n del recinto asistencial \u00e9sta no fue al azar. La industria confi\u00f3 en este hospital gracias a los conocimientos y especializaci\u00f3n del Doctor Darwin Veloza, Cardi\u00f3logo y Electrofisi\u00f3logo, quien lider\u00f3 el procedimiento.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

El Dr. Veloza detall\u00f3 las ventajas de utilizar este moderno equipamiento en arritmias complejas. \u00abRealizamos una ablaci\u00f3n de fibrilaci\u00f3n auricular, que consiste en aislar las venas pulmonares. Esta nueva tecnolog\u00eda nos permite ser mucho m\u00e1s precisos. Con ella, la eficacia para quitar la arritmia es mayor, la seguridad aumenta notablemente y todo se logra en un menor tiempo de operaci\u00f3n\u00bb.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
